The Kalapuyans hunted and gathered for millennia before being moved onto the Grand Ronde Reservation. Natives from Grand Ronde Reservation annually harvested from settler farms in the valley. We will look at the circumstances of tribal removal to the reservation and tribal labor in agriculture in the 19th century.
